You may not be able to get key out and it will be dealer thing. You can remove the ignition assembly, lock assembly. There is a release button you get to from the bottom and you can remove the key and the lock barrel assembly as a unit. Again, take the bottom shroud off and you can see the hole and the release button.

The FOB buttons simply did not work, but at least the general insanity of the orginal FOB was 'gone'. You could also have a defective FOB, or there is something in your pocked pushing buttons. If I change the battery, it lasts maybe 10 months, have someone else do it, they seem to last years. What you will need: 1x CR2032 battery. Flat-head screwdriver. Step 1 – Pull the silver switch on the back of the device to release the internal key. Step 2 – Locate the slot at the bottom of the key fob (next to the keyhole). Insert a flathead screwdriver into this slot and twist. To the OP, if it happens again and you unlock your door with the key in the FOB, try pushing the start button with the FOB.
